Runs in this tab. Nothing you paste or drop is uploaded.
While it runs

- ↑ ↓ speed
- PgUp ← back a bit

How it works
Paste your script, pick a speed and press Start the prompter. The page goes full screen and the text scrolls upwards past a reading line about a third of the way down, close to where a laptop or phone camera sits, so your eyes stay near the lens.
The speed is set in words per minute rather than an abstract scroll speed: the whole script passes the reading line in (words ÷ wpm) minutes, so 150 wpm moves about as fast as average narration. Change the text size or line width and the scroll speed is recalculated to keep the same pace.
- 130 wpm is a slow, clear read for tutorials; 150 is average narration; 170 suits Shorts and ads. The slider goes from 60 to 260.
- Mirror flips the text left to right for a teleprompter glass (beam-splitter) rig, where the screen is seen in a reflection.
- Reading line marks where your eye should be. A 3-second countdown gives you time to look at the lens before it starts.
- Camera behind the text shows your own camera, mirrored, under the words so you can check framing while you read. Nothing is recorded or sent; the camera stops when you exit.
While it runs, Space pauses, the up and down arrows change speed by 10 wpm, Page Up / Page Down (or left / right) jump back or forward a couple of lines, + and − change the text size, M mirrors, R restarts and Esc exits. Most presentation clickers send Page Up / Page Down and B, so they work as a remote. On a phone or tablet, tap the text to pause. The screen is kept awake while the prompter is open.
Your script stays in the browser. It is not stored unless you tick "Remember this script on this device", and it is never uploaded.
When to use it
Any time you read to a camera or a microphone and want to sound unscripted without memorising.
- Talking-head YouTube videos, course lessons and product demos.
- Shorts, Reels and TikToks: time the script with the speech time calculator first, then send it here with one click.
- Voiceovers and podcast intros, read at a steady pace.
- A teleprompter glass rig with a tablet or laptop: turn on Mirror.
- Video calls and presentations: put the window under your camera and keep notes scrolling.
For your first take, pick a speed a little slower than you think and nudge it up with the arrow keys; it is easier to speed up than to catch up.
Questions
Is this teleprompter really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no time limit. It runs in your browser, and once you have opened it, it keeps working offline.
How do I set the scrolling speed?
Pick a pace in words per minute: 130 for slow and clear, 150 for average narration, 170 for fast. The text then passes the reading line at that pace. While it runs, the up and down arrow keys change it by 10 wpm.
Does it work with a teleprompter mirror or glass?
Yes. Turn on Mirror and the text is flipped left to right, so it reads correctly in the reflection of a beam-splitter glass. Press M while it runs to switch.
Can I control it with a remote or clicker?
Most presentation clickers send Page Up, Page Down and B. Page Up / Page Down jump back or forward a couple of lines and B (or Space) pauses. A Bluetooth keyboard works too.
Does it record my video?
No. The optional camera view only shows your camera behind the text so you can check framing; nothing is recorded, saved or sent, and the camera turns off when you exit. Record with your usual camera app or editor.
Is my script saved or uploaded?
It is never uploaded. It is kept in this browser only if you tick "Remember this script on this device"; otherwise reloading the page clears it. Your speed, text size and other settings are remembered on this device.
